When people ask how Purple Pearl Vineyards was born, Rory Horton and Brenda Inman will tell you that it was an "accident". When people ask us if we had any background or education in wine or viticulture when we purchased the place in Feb 2004, we will tell you that we didn't. But we learned! The learning curve almost did a back flip!

 

When people ask if Rory does all the work himself, he will respond that he does "everything" and then admit that Brenda does "everything else". Purple Pearl Vineyards has produced some quality wines and has evolved into lovely place to visit , taste wine, play bocce, picnic or relax. 

 

The tasting room is open Thurs-Sun 12-5 PM. Look for the little hand painted signs in front of Peddrick's Produce stand or Higby's feed store for further directions. Purple Pearl Vineyards is just far enough off the beaten track to feel like a hidden treasure. The wine is made from grapes grown at the vineyard and then cellared and bottled on the premises. Some lots are only a few cases while others can be up to 1000 cases.
