About Us
Rory Horton & Brenda Inman

Rory and Brenda Inman, a great team!
Sometimes life leads to unexpected places. We never expected to be running a vineyard and winery. And even though things don't just happen by themselves, opportunities can take us by surprise. People always ask us how we got started in this business. The chain of events began when Giulio (the former owner) called us on that fateful day (the latter part of 2003) to come and list, his 40 acre vineyard, winery and home for sale in Dixon,CA. If he had not called, we would still be living happily in our little cottage on 5 acres in Vacaville, working as real estate agents, taking vacations and putting money in the bank! How boring would that be? Instead, one of us is still working the real estate business for much needed income and the other is toiling in the vineyard and winery about 16 hours a day. Guess who is doing what!
Our grapes are beautiful and flavorful and make great wine. We have sold to some home winemakers that have won awards for their wine and to several other wineries.
Since we have purchased our Dixon winery and vineyard, we have developed the wine tasting room which had been Giulio’s dental studio. He used to design and build dentures, bridges and crowns. The building consisted of wooden work stations. We have also cleared a very nice picnic area under the redwoods where we are also building a hidden pond. The next project will be the bocce ball court which is nearly completed.
Come see what’s happening! Taste our wines and watch us grow!
Our Winemaker

Michael Moore, Winemaker
Michael Moore was introduced to us by a mutual friend. It was a lucky day for us! When we met Mike, we thought his energy and enthusiasm was a perfect match for our own.
Mike has been producing wine all of his adult life. He has worked at The Robert Mondavi Winery for 23 years and has learned the processes from the very basics to the final finish of great wine such as Mondavi's Cabernet Sauvignon Reserves and Opus One.
Winemaking is not "just a job" for Mike, his passion flows over to his own home winemaker labels of Pinot Noir and Zinfandel. Now he has brought his skills and creative vision to Purple Pearl Vineyards of Solano County making the 2004 vintage of Chardonnay, Napa Gamay, Merlot, Syrah and an "unexpected surprise" -Syrah Rose'.
Mike's other interests are cooking, hunting, fishing and abalone diving. What a man! He can bring meat to the table, cook it in gourmet style and pair the meal with the wines he has been instrumental in making!
